Stay and Play Practitioner

£4,477.20 per annum Part time Term Time Only 15-09-2019 Level 2 childcare qualification
We are looking for a Stay and Play Practitioner to lead our exciting Stay and Play sessions for children under 5 years and their families.
The Stay and Play Practitioner will work under the supervision of the Family Services Lead.

The successful applicant will be trained in infant massage as part of this role.

We provide a range of stay and play opportunities for children with and without disabilities and complex health needs to enjoy with their families. The sessions are to offer fun and exciting experiences for children as well as offering support, advice, guidance and role modelling for families.



Person Specification:

Professional:
• Demonstrate a good level of written and spoken English.
• Have experience and knowledge of safeguarding, Family Support Processes and special education needs assessment.
• Level 2 Early Years / Health and Social Care or equivalent.
• Experience of supporting very young children with disabilities and their families / carers.
• Evidence of keeping up to date with practice and developments in the sector.
• Experience of working with families at times of crisis with a clear understanding of when to refer on.
Communication and Teamwork:
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work in a team
• Able to adapt communication and approach to children and adults
• Able to remain professional and work within professional boundaries, understanding limitations of involvement.
• Proactive and resourceful with the ability to work on your own initiative.

Hours: 12 hours a week (Monday to Wednesday 9.30am - 12pm, Thursday to Friday 9.30am - 11.45am) plus 14 hours additional training a year

Hourly rate: £8.50 per hour

Annual Salary: £4,477.20 per annum
