Norfolk’s Residential Service has an exciting opportunity for individuals who are keen to support young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours as part of our new Children with Disabilities emergency provision.

Springwood will provide emergency and time limited specialist care for young people of either gender aged between 7-17 years, where either family, foster care, or other community-based placements are not possible or desirable at the time.

Ideally you will have a background in residential care, knowledge and experience of working with children with disability and autism. Preferably you will have an NVQ3 or CWDC Diploma working with Children and Young People however, consideration will be given to suitable candidates without this qualification who are committed to completing it within 18 months, as it is a requirement of the role.

The successful candidates will be required to provide direct high-quality care for children and young people during the night to ensure that their holistic needs are met. You should be enthusiastic, flexible and responsive to the needs of the children.

Successful candidates will make sure that young people are at the centre of everything that happens in the home and will contribute to solving problems. You should be able to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in a crisis.

This is predominantly a night post however you may occasionally be required for day work to complete training. You will be working on a rota system of two nights on and four nights off, which will involve working weekends and bank holidays.
