Residential Children's Practitioners – Level 2 (10 posts) 62603 CHSE

£24,982 to £27,041 per annum Full time All Year 10-03-2021 No childcare qualifications
Norfolk’s Residential Service has an exciting opportunity for individuals who are keen to support young people with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours as part of our new Children with Disabilities emergency provision.

Springwood will provide emergency and time limited specialist care for young people of either gender aged between 7-17 years, where either family, foster care, or other community-based placements are not possible or desirable at the time.

Ideally you will have a background in residential care, knowledge and experience of working with children with disability and autism. Preferably you will have an NVQ3 or CWDC Diploma working with Children and Young People, however consideration will be given to suitable candidates without this qualification who are committed to completing it within 18 months, as it is a requirement for the role.

The successful candidates will be required to provide direct high-quality care for children and young people to ensure that their holistic needs are met. You will also be required to liaise with professionals and families so you must have good communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidates will make sure that young people are at the centre of everything that happens in the home, will be excellent problem solvers, make sound judgements under pressure and respond effectively in a crisis. You will also be involved in planning and organising the day to day running of the home.

You will need to be able to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays, which may involve occasional sleeping ins and night work, depending on the needs of the service.
