Pre-School Practitioner

£8.35 ph Part time Term Time Only 22-02-2019 Level 3 childcare qualification
Swanton Abbott Pre-School is open term time only and is currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced practitioner - minimum Level 3 to join our friendly team.

The position is part time, approximately 20 hours.

The successful applicant will need to have excellent communication skills as well as previous experience as a key person, building positive relationships with both children and their families. A sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Safeguarding are important, along with the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
*Assist with planning and implementing the curriculum. *Helping to prepare, plan and lead small group activities with the children.
*To help set up the room for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session, ensuring that all toys and equipment are clean and safe at all times.
*To act as a key person to a small group of children, carrying out observations and assessments, maintaining records of progress and liaising closely with parents/carers.
*Monitor children’s progress as per the Early Years Foundation Stage.
*Adhere to child safeguarding procedures.
*Be aware of any special needs a child may have and to familiarise oneself with relevant support plans.
*Teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
*Attend staff meetings and training courses, as required.
*Maintain confidential information regarding the children, their families or others.
*To be familiar with current OFSTED's Standards.
*Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the Pre-school Manager, in accordance with the pre-school policies and procedures/objectives.
