Pre-School Manager - Leading Childcare Practitioner

Newton Flotman Pre-School requires an enthusiastic and dedicated Pre-School Leader to run our popular setting. We are a well established, committee run pre-school operating from the village hall. This is a full time role (37.5 hours per week, Pre-School open 38 weeks a year) with an annual salary paid equally each month. We are open 9am-3.30pm (Monday-Thursday) and 9am-1pm (Friday), term time only. Our sessions look after a maximum of 26 children aged between 2 and 4 years old.

You will be responsible for a small team of five staff, plus all admin work. As well as working closely with the Pre-School’s management committee you will work alongside a bookkeeper who assists with the accounts. You will also be required to liaise with parents/carers as well as outside agencies.

The Pre-School currently holds an “outstanding” Ofsted rating.

Essential criteria includes:
Full and relevant Level 3 (or above) qualification in early years care and education.
Minimum of 2 years experience working in a childcare setting
Minimum of at least 1 year as room lead or deputy
Ability to plan and participate in activities, as required
Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and current Early Years Legislation
Safeguarding Lead Practitioner Training
Experience of working with children that have special educational needs and disabilities
Current First Aid Training
Ability to maintain stock levels within a budget

Desirable criteria includes:
Experience in a management role in the early years sector
Experience in leading a team of practitioners
SENCO Training
Experience of leading during Ofsted inspection
Experience in Family Support Process
Experience with Early Education Funding, 2 year funding, 3-4 year funding, 30 hours funding and tax free childcare

Salary will be determined by experience and qualifications.
