Pre-school Deputy Leader

Buttercups, a thriving pre-school set in a pretty village just east of Kings Lynn, now requires a Deputy Leader to maintain its very high standard of provision and develop a broader curriculum.
We are looking for a committed, qualified and experienced Deputy to take on challenges and further develop our success. Working 4 or 5 days a week (27.5 to 32.5 hours per week) starting from September 2019.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 Childcare and Early Years Education
• Full knowledge of the EYFS
• Fully trained SENCO
• 3 years’ experience within a pre-school environment
• Eagerness to take on a challenge
• Flexibility to work around a changing environment
• Willingness to learn new skills and take responsibility
Duties to include:
• Assisting the Pre-school Leader with the managing and maintaining of a high standard of care and education for all children in the setting. Being able to run the setting in the Leader’s absence i.e. every Friday and during training and illness etc.
• Assisting with staff management and all administration.
• Being responsible for all areas of the business which relate to health and safety and first aid.
• Maintaining and implementing computer records in the Group.
• Overseeing the use and maintenance of the Group’s camera.
• Reviewing and maintaining a continuous improvement/action plan for the Group.
• Taking part in long, medium and short term planning.
• Acting as a Key Person to a specific number of named children.

Salary - £8.71 per hour
We take children from 2 to school age, currently for term time only for the following hours – 08:30 to 15:30 Monday, Tuesday and Friday and 08:30 to 12:30 Wednesday and Thursday. Working hours include a half an hour added to the beginning and the end of the day for unpacking and packing away.
From the setting we are able to take the children for walks to observe nature and meet the local horses and other animals kept by our neighbours. We also have a packed schedule of visitors – music man, dental nurse, veterinary nurse, racing pigeon owner, tennis coach, multi-sport and carpenter – who all help to broaden the children’s education and experience.
