Job Summary

Little Owls Day Nursery Ltd offer two high quality Early Years settings one situated within Toftwood and one at Scarning both settings are situated just outside the market town of Dereham.

Our Toftwood nursery offers 100 places for children between the ages of 6 weeks -5 years whilst our Scarning nursery offers 54 places between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years.

We are currently offering a fabulous opportunity for the right candidate to work on a full-time basis within our lovely rural Little Owls Scarning nursery.

Our Scarning Little Owls has been established since September 2017 and offers our children and families a high quality personal and unique early years setting.

We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about early years and can develop,lead and make their own individual mark on our thriving nursery.

You will be working in collaboration with the full support of your full time deputy manager in addition to our senior early years practitioner.This is to ensure compliance with all legislative frameworks are adhered to and ensuring that the nursery maintains an Ofsted Outstanding Early Years programme demonstrating an ambitious vision for the nursery in delivering the highest possible standards throughout the setting at all times.

We have a robust support management structure in place to help support you with the day to day management of our setting in the form of an Operations manager, Deputy manager and Senior practitioner alongside individual rooms supervisors and senior nursery nurses.

This position is completely supernumerary which provides you with the time and opportunity to lead and develop the nursery and to ensure the nursery is offering a rich and stimulating environment with a wide and diverse variety of meaningful and enriching experiences for our children.

You will possess a very sound and thorough knowledge of Ofsted requirements and keeping updated on all nursery legislation as well as possessing a thorough knowledge of continuous provision,planning, observation and assessment cycle and monitoring the quality of these within the nursery rooms.

Experience of Ofsted inspections would also be an advantage.

You will support and monitor our staff teams, managing and carrying out inductions,regular supervisions,appraisals,peer to peer observations and carrying out room reviews.

All of these duties will be carried out in collaboration with your nursery deputy manager and Operations manager.

You will be required to foster and develop positive working relationships with our parents and carers show prospective parents and families around the setting and oversee parents evenings and story cafes.

You will need to be competent in ICT technologies and experience of using a nursery computer system would be advantageous.

An interest in high quality outdoor provision and the curiosity approach would be a advantageous as we have a strong and positive ethos for the outdoor environment.Our future plans are that we will shortly be applying for full accreditation for the curiosity approach so experience or knowledge of this would be a great advantage.

The successful candidate would ideally already be employed within a similar management capacity within a high quality Early years setting and experience of recruitment and performance managing staff is essential.

The hours of work will be week one - 8.00-5.00pm

Week Two - 8.45-6.00pm.Monday to Friday 52 weeks per year.

All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and references.
