The Willows Day Nursery in Downham Market is looking to recruit a passionate and outstanding Nursery Manager who can lead a fantastic nursery staff team to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children that attend the nursery.

The successful candidate will have a robust knowledge of the EYFS, have strong communication and organisational skills and be highly motivated. A positive attitude and the ability to work independently are crucial attributes for the role.

Full time role 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:30am - 6:00pm

Main role and duties:

To ensure the day to day operation of the nursery is kept to high standard. To ensure all legislation in relation to registration with regulatory bodies, special needs, child protection and Health and Safety is complied with and that company policies and procedures are adhered to. To monitor and manage staff, continually improve practice and support the nursery team.

Job Purpose and Main Responsibilities:

The Willows Day Nursery is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Manager who has a real drive and passion for improving outcomes for children.

This is a permanent position 40 hours a week with a very competitive salary for the right individual.

Promote high standards of quality within the nursery in respect of the environment, resources and experiences offered to children, to ensure all children attending nursery receive rich and stimulating experiences appropriate to their age, stage of development, and individual needs.
Responsibility to ensure that the nursery complies with all company policies and procedures, relevant legislation, local authority and OFSTED requirements.
Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meets the requirements of the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Responsible for the effective daily management of the nursery.
Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and, when necessary, follow Safeguarding Procedures.
Promote and facilitate partnerships with parents/carers and other family members to ensure high levels of involvement and customer satisfaction.
Have a full understanding of the Ofsted inspection process and the standards required to ensure the nursery receives a good or outstanding Ofsted judgement.
Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.
Create and maintain a culture of self evaluation and reflective practice throughout the nursery.
Responsibility for running the setting as a viable business with expected levels of income, occupancy, budgetary control and that bad debt is minimal and managed correctly.
Ensure that all agreed quality and safety standards are maintained in the nursery at all times.
Ensure that all paperwork is completed on time, accurately, and kept up to date to ensure the smooth running of the setting.
Responsible for keeping own knowledge and skills up to date, including Company policies and procedures, Ofsted requirements and all relevant legislation.

All Employees within Alpha Community Nurseries are expected to promote the company and its ethos whenever possible, the company will attend a number of events throughout the year and as part of your role you are expected to help out at these events, we would expect 12 hours per year minimum on a voluntary basis to support the promotion of the company. This could be in the evenings and at weekends. These hours are in addition to any you may do during normal office hours.
