Lead Early Years Practitioner (SENDCo)

£17,971.20 (pro-rata) Full time Term Time Only 28-09-2020 Level 3 childcare qualification
We are looking for an exceptional early years worker to join the early years team at The Hamlet.
Working as a Lead Practitioner in the pre-school on a day to day basis, the SENDCo is a core member of the pre-school team.

The person we are looking for will have a genuine interest in working with children with special needs and a child centred approach to their work. They will be an excellent communicator with the ability to face challenges and find solutions for our children, ideally they will have a working knowledge of sign language. They will be a team player with a sense of humour and fun-loving, active approach to working with children.

The applicant must be qualified to a minimum Level 3 relevant early years qualification that meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage

The Hamlet is a well known and established charity with inclusion of people with disabilities and complex health needs at the centre of all the work that we do. The small pre-school offers a unique mix of children (maximum 18 per day) with and without additional needs and the SENDCo is central to ensuring that we continue to offer a fully inclusive environment through our practice and support of children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

The SENDCo is responsible for implementing the Hamlet’s inclusion and SEND policy, supporting all staff to work closely with parents/carers and others to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) ensuring they are fully included in the pre-school.

Hours: 35 hours, 5 days a week - term time only

Salary: £17,971.20 (pro-rata)
