Hub Community Family Foster Carer

Do you think you could help a young person reach their full potential?
Could you help them get on the right track and build a supportive relationship?

If the answer is yes, then please read on! Norfolk County Council Fostering Service are seeking an exceptional individual or family to offer specialised foster care to a young person within our New Roads Community Service.

New Roads is a service and approach supporting adolescents who are in or on the edge of care and at risk of placement breakdown without an intervention package in place, as well as being a group that traditionally has particularly poor long-term outcomes.

At the heart of this model is supporting these young people in a family setting. The purpose of New Roads is to not just reduce time spent in care, but to provide support and provide therapeutic interventions that improve things for young people across a range of outcome measures and help them to progress to adulthood.

We are looking for foster carers to operate as part of our New Roads Community Families. This is a unique opportunity in the landscape of fostering where you will operate in a foster care capacity, but also work within a residential setting to building a supportive relationship with a troubled young person.

As a New Roads foster carer, you will be able to relate to young people who may display complex and troubled behaviours. You will have an interest in supporting us to help young people become confident and resilient adults with a place to belong. You will need to be available on a full-time basis, in good health and have a spare room available.

We are offering an excellent package of rewards for our Hub Community Family Foster Carers:

• Benefit from full training to equip you to act as specialist foster carers
• You will receive a generous financial package, enhanced rates of £800 per week when the child is in placement
• You will also work paid shifts in one of our two residential hubs, giving you the opportunity to develop a bond with the young person before looking after them
• You will receive all the support you need and 24/7 contact with your local hub, to support, help and advice from our locally based specialists and practitioners.

If you think this is the right opportunity for you and would like to find out more, please call 01603 306649 or email [email protected]
