Home Based Support Workers

£19,554 to £21,166 per annum Full time All Year 17-07-2020 Level 3 childcare qualification
Do you want to join a new and exciting service supporting Norfolk’s most vulnerable families?

Are you passionate about providing children and their families with the guidance and support they need to live within the community and family home?

We are looking to recruit Home Based Support Workers across Norfolk to join our new Intensive and Specialist Support Service with the aim to enable more children to remain at home safely with their families.

As a Home Based Support Worker, you will undertake specific tasks and practical support, directed by Family Practitioners/Social Workers to promote safety and well-being and prevent escalation of need.

Interventions will be one to one with families:

• Motivating and supporting families with parenting tasks, e.g. cleanliness, routines, mealtimes, boundary setting, consequences
• Role modelling, advice and guidance around parenting
• Supporting families to access other professional services

With an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, you will be willing to undertake Signs of Safety, Restorative Practice and Solihull training in your first year. You will have relevant experience providing services for children and young people, and their families and an understanding of child development from birth to 19 including factors which impede overall development.

In order to support families when they most need it, Home Based Support Workers will be on a 37 hour per week, Monday to Sunday contract. You will be required to work outside of normal office working hours, including evenings and weekends. You will be required to travel as part of your duties.

Opportunities in South Norfolk, East Norfolk, North Norfolk and Broadland, Breckland and Norwich.

This is a great opportunity to join a brand new and innovative service providing the best possible support to children and families.

If you wish to discuss this opportunity further, please call Sarah Cubitt, Team Manager on 01603 973580 or Katie Mathunjwa, Team Manager, Intensive and Specialist Support Service on 01553 669630.
