Are you passionate about providing children and their families with the guidance and support they need to live safely together? Are you committed to providing a service that meets the needs of children, whilst ensuring that their welfare is promoted and that they are safeguarded effectively?

We are looking to recruit Family Support Workers across Norfolk to join our new Community Assessment and Family Time Service with the aim to enable more children to remain at home safely with their families.

As a Family Support Worker, you’ll provide supervision and support to children and their families in their own homes as part of an 8-week assessment. Working as part of the Community Assessment Team, you’ll safeguard children and provide families with guidance, role-modelling and support, as directed by the assessing Social Worker. You’ll assist parents to develop parenting skills and routines and provide practical support with day-to-day tasks and activities to prevent escalation and promote safety and wellbeing.

You’ll have experience of working with families in their own home as a Nursery Nurse, Support Worker, Early Years Practitioner, Residential Support Worker, Home visiting volunteer, Family outreach worker or a similar role.

With an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject, you’ll be willing to undertake Signs of Safety, Restorative Practice and Solihull training in your first year. You’ll have a good knowledge of child development from birth to 19 and of factors which impede overall development. This role will involve flexible working and shift patterns including sleep-ins and waking nights in the family home and supported lone working.

This is a great opportunity to join a brand new and innovative service providing the best possible support to children and families.
