The Tiffin Day Nursery and Preschool is looking for an Experienced Room Leader to join our Team.

• Full Time Position based within our Honeybees Room for babies aged 6 months to around 2 years old.
• Nursery Operation Hours Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm* and Friday 8am to 4pm* (As nursery demand grows operating hours may change)

Our Nursery

• Our wonderful nursery is set in an old school building next to Thurton Primary School which has been operating successfully for 10 years. We have a strong reputation amongst local schools for providing exceptional care and education to our children and families.
• We are delighted to say that the nursery is growing in numbers and we are looking for an experienced practitioner to join our team.
• We operate a strong EYFS provision and we provide the best practices from around the early year’s educational world. Our education and care programme brings in the EYFS, Hygge, Forest School, Montessori, Reggio Emila, Te Whariki and Curiosity inspired practices.
• We don’t believe that our children should be tied to one set of practices but experience the best provision we can offer them to achieve their individual potentials, through knowledgeable, experienced and dedicated early years professionals.

You will be expected to bring in the practices and interest you love to the children and staff at the setting. The role is as much about you, as it is about meeting the needs of our children and the values and practices of the nursery.

Room Leader Roles and Responsibilities

• As an experienced Room Leader you have overall responsibility for your room and children and staff within it, ensuring they are performing to the highest standards, along with specific training to work with and support babies.
• Responsible for complying with legal ratio numbers
• As a Key Person, you will ensure individual children’s needs are met.
• To carry out planning and create learning opportunities to meet the needs of the children in your care and others at the setting.
• Complete quality learning journals to a high standard using Tapestry.
• Required to have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• To be an effective team player and contribute to the success of the team and the nursery.
• Confidently implement all policies and procedures that support and protect our children, families, staff and nursery.
• To be an advocate for our Safeguarding Policy, maintain our high expectations and view safeguarding as paramount.
• You must have a strong work ethic as you will be expected to maintain the highest standards of warmth, care and educational service to provide for the needs of our children and their families.

It is essential that you have current and relevant EYFS Knowledge.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Relevant Early Years Qualification at Level 3 or above
• 2 years previous experience working and caring for children under 5, within an early years setting in a lead role.
• Paediatric First Aid
