Children and Young People’s Involvement Officer

£22,183 to £24,491 per annum Full time All Year 27-07-2021 No childcare qualifications
Norfolk Children’s Services, in partnership with the members of Norfolk In Care Council, are seeking to recruit a Children and Young People’s Involvement Officer.

You will be responsible for engaging with members of Norfolk’s In Care Council, and other children and young people who access NCC social care services, through the delivery of participation activities, enabling those individuals to proactively share their views about NCC services with senior officers, elected members and all engaged in shaping and delivering services. Children and young people who have experienced statutory care or child protection processes have a unique perspective on the delivery of those services and are the best people to help us shape effective future services.

Do you have experience of direct participation in a professional setting with children and young people? Do you have experience of promoting the voice of children and young people in a large organisation? Can you develop and deliver an enabling framework where the voice and views of children and young people are valued, heard and responded to?

We are a small team with a whole county reach; our new Involvement Officer will cover the West [Kings Lynn] and Breckland [Dereham] locality areas, with a requirement to travel to Norwich regularly. Involvement Officers also work outside core office hours delivering participation activities for children and young people.

Our new team member will join a dynamic team launched last September; this is an exciting time to join us as we move forward in consolidating our service delivery. As well as a supportive colleague and management group, we are also able to offer you NCC’s professional development opportunities and, post probationary period, an opportunity to take up an apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
