Gingerbreads Out of School Care Ltd are pleased to announce two brand new Ofsted registered services operating from Downham Market schools! From September 2019 Gingerbreads @ Hillcrest will be based in Hillcrest Primary School, offering breakfast care from 7.30am and after school care until 6pm. Gingerbreads @ Nelson will be based at Nelson Academy, offering after school care until 6pm.

We are looking for motivated Play Workers to join our growing & committed team of staff, working up to 5 mornings & 5 afternoons per week during term time from September 2019. Typical hours will be between 7.15am to 8.45am & 2.45pm to 6.00pm. We can offer flexible working arrangements and would consider candidates on a job share basis.

You will be a good team player, have recent experience of working with children of school age and have an understanding of child protection and safe working practices. Qualifications are not essential for this role but would be advantageous. A willingness to undertake some short online training courses would be deemed favourable, as would specific childcare qualifications. (NB: Please note that childcare experience required does not mean caring for own children).

Duties will include assisting with the preparation of day to day routines including facilitating breakfast, snack time, setting up the room, welcoming parents & children, supervising activities, supervising outdoor play, planning, meal time support and general clearing and cleaning duties. We need someone who can support children’s play and work as a team to provide a safe, secure and happy environment for children.

Good communication skills and a pro active, positive attitude are essential, as is ensuring the children’s safety, welfare and well-being at all times. Our setting, although a relaxed and happy one, is a very busy one, so it is vital that you are on the ball, organised and can carry out tasks effectively and efficiently, in a timely manner.

Our staff team work incredibly closely with one another to ensure good team morale, creating a fantastic working environment where staff help one another out to ensure the smooth running of the club. Salary advertised as above and is pro rata. Actual salary is dependent on age, experience and qualifications. Candidates shall receive a uniform, regular training, workplace pension, CPD opportunities and paid holiday entitlement.
