After School Club Assistant/Supervisor

We are looking for some special people to join our team as part of our after school club and also bank staff so if the below sounds like you please get in touch and come for a cuppa and a chat.

• You must have a warm approach that makes every child feel special.
• You must be able to laugh at jokes you don’t understand, or don’t find funny!
• You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child requests that you be a captain of a pirate ship, you will be the best pirate captain you can be!
• The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd is essential.
• You must be able to distribute warm hugs as required.
• Possessing the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of the utmost importance.
• Pretending to eat play dough creations realistically is required, and that of drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
• You must have the ability to read a ten page fairy tale, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.
• You must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
• Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special and important to many young children and their families.

There is simply no other job quite like this one.

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant must be able to pass a clear DBS check and be subject to suitable references.

• After School Club operates Monday to Thursday 14:45 pm to 18:00 pm and Friday 14:45 pm to 17:00 pm.
• You would be part of a two person team each evening comprising of a leader and assistant. Each team would be responsible for running and supervising after school care for children aged 4 to 11.
• You would work together as part of a larger After School Club team to plan activities and snack and discuss issues as they arise. We currently need someone 2 to 3 evenings a week.
• The After School Club benefits from the full support and training of the pre-school and report directly to the pre-school leader and management committee.
• Bank staff would be needed on various days and hours between the hours of 8:45 am to 16:00 pm.
• Stepping Stones operates Term Time only and starting pay is between £7.83 and £8.83 depending on role.
• Childcare qualifications are desirable, but not essential.
